Mike Infurna [EH]
From: Anderson, Michael B [Michael.Anderson@Nolte.com]
Sent: Thursday, August 19, 2004 3:07 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: RE: Cherokee Freight Lines monitoring well installation
Mike,
I will send you the workplan today. Cherokee Freight Lines (CFL)
operates a truckwash on Cherokee Road, and treated effluent from the
truckwash is used to irrigate pasture and orchards at a site a few miles
away (also on Cherokee Road) . CFL has a permit from the CVRWQCB for
land application of the wastewater, and the CVRWQCB recently updated the
Monitoring and Reporting Program (MRP) to include monitoring wells. (In
the past, CFL collected vadose zone groundwater samples using
lysimeters, but to be consistent with other dischargers the CVRWQCB is
now requiring CFL to collect groundwater samples from the saturated
zone. )
You are correct about the parcels being owned by Gary Scannavino; he is
the CFL owner. There is no property transfer. There is no suspected
contaminant, although the agricultural supply wells have some nitrate
(present long before wastewater was applied to the site) . The
wastewater is treated rinsewater from trucks carrying food-grade
products (e.g. , wine, vegetable oil, etc. ) . Before washing, the truck
tanks are drained, and the drainings hauled off separately. We don't
have a firm drilling date yet, but we are aiming for the week of
September 13th. Is this feasible?
Thanks,
Mike
-----Original Message-----
From: Mike Infurna [EH] [mailto:MInfurna@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Thursday, August 19, 2004 2:55 PM
To: Anderson, Michael B
Subject: RE: Cherokee Freight Lines monitoring well installation
I got the maps, and cover sheet ok-fine.
A work plan WOULD be nice.
are you working under some Regulatory directive/requirement? Or is this
just some property transfer assessment? or OTHER? I still can't find a
site file for either parcel where the 3 MWs are proposed. Per the County
assessor, all parcels are owned by Gary Scannavino, Trust ETAL or Gary &
Leanne Trust and ALL have different addresses?? Why the monitoring
wells? A Water quality issue?
any soil boring data available from previous subsurface investigations?
Suspected contaminant? source?
I'm really in the dark on this one and so is Margaret. .
I hope you DON'T have a drill date set, cause this will have to be
cleared up before a permit will be issued.
-----Original Message-----
From: Anderson, Michael B [mailto:Michael.Anderson@Nolte.com]
Sent: Thursday, August 19, 2004 10:55 AM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: RE: Cherokee Freight Lines monitoring well installation
Mike,
A little while ago I faxed you a copy of the site map, proposed
1
