April 26, 1988 AGS Job No. 2005-P
Delta Truck Sales, Stockton, California
The sample sleeve will then be driven into the soil from the land
surface. If the pit walls are unstable, or if the excavation is
judged to be unsafe on the basis of field evaluation, the sample
will be collected from the backhoe bucket immediately after it is
i brought to the ground surface. Sampling procedures will be
similar for samples collected from spoil piles. Samples will be
collected from the material as it is placed in the respective
piles, with collection and analysis of at least one sample for
i
every 30 cubic yards of excavated material.
Immediately after each sample is collected, the brass sleeve will
4
be removed from the sampler and sealed with aluminum foil,
plastic caps, and airtight tape. The sample will then be labeled
and placed in iced storage for transport to the laboratory.
Chain of Custody Records will be initiated in the field by the
sampler and will accompany the samples to the analytical
laboratory within 24 hours of sample collection. Results of
analyses should be available within 14 days from the date of
i
sample submission and will be promptly communicated to the
4? client.
Sampling tools and brass sample sleeves will be thoroughly
cleaned prior to field work with a solution of laboratory
10
Applied GeOSYSMMS
