Response to EPA Comment No. 1 (January 7, 1999) : Section 3.0, Summary <br /> of Work to be Performed, Natural Attenuation Sampling. <br /> The response to this comment states " (A) Specifics of <br /> natural attenuation monitoring based on AFCEE and U.S. EPA protocols will be <br /> included in the next work plan version. " However, this is not the case, <br /> since in Section 3.0, the third bullet states, "The work plan that will <br /> provide specific details regarding natural attenuation sampling will be <br /> addressed in a separate technical memorandum. " Please indicate when this <br /> technical memorandum will be available for EPA review. <br /> 2. Response to EPA Comment No. 2 (January 7, 1999) : Appendix B, Table B-2 <br /> The response to the last bullet of this EPA comment states <br /> " (A) The eight EWs mentioned are part of the D030 RD/RA Work Plan and should <br /> be included in the Final Table B-2 of the Annual. " EPA assumes that the <br /> final Table B-2 has been included in this final work plan. However, only <br /> four new extraction wells (not eight, per the response) were found in Table <br /> B-2: EW040EW through EW044AU. Please identify the name, location, and <br /> status of each of these eight extraction wells, and include them in Table <br /> B-2. <br /> 3. Figure 3-2A, Well Locations, North End DDJC-Tracy and Annex <br /> Table B-2 has been revised to include planned extraction <br /> wells EW040EW through EW044AU. Please revise Figure 3-2A to show the <br /> locations of these planned wells. <br /> 4. Response to EPA Comment No. 3 (January 7, 1999) : Section 3.1.1, Sample <br /> Numbers and Appendix A, Analytical Matrix Tables <br /> This concern has not been addressed despite the response to <br /> this comment. The 1Q99 Sampling and Analysis Matrix in Appendix identifies <br /> 108 wells to be sampled, yet Section 3.1.1 identifies 196 wells are to be <br /> sampled in 1Q99. Please resolve this discrepancy. <br /> 5. Response to EPA Comment No. 4 (January 7, 1999): Table B-2, Well <br /> LM025AUA <br /> This concern has not been addressed despite the response to <br /> this comment. Well LM025AUA in Table B-2 still shows annual sampling <br /> instead of semi-annual sampling. <br /> 6. Response to EPA Comment No. 5 (January 7, 1999) : Table B-2, Wells <br /> LM58AU, LM066A, and LM093AU <br /> This concern has not been addressed despite the response to <br /> this comment. Applicable text in Table B-2 has not been revised. <br /> 1 <br />
