Subsistence Warehouse Soils -5- 12 March 1993 <br /> DDRW Tracy <br /> conduct similar evaluations for each constituent of concern at each WMU in the site- <br /> wide Remedial Investigation, Feasibility Study (RI/FS) . These evaluations must be <br /> conducted in addition to the Risk Assessment, to determine the appropriate soil <br /> cleanup levels. <br /> Based on this evaluation of the Subsistence Warehouse stockpiled soil , DDRW, Tracy <br /> should consider the following actions: <br /> ► All of the (approximately 200 cy) stockpiled soil should be removed and <br /> disposed of in a Class II landfill , based on a one time only decision for a <br /> removal action. <br /> ► The detection limits for soluble metals analysis need to be below the <br /> water quality goals selected to protect groundwater for each constituent. <br /> ► A "statistically significant" number of soil samples will be required to be <br /> collected in unaffected areas onsite to establish soil background <br /> concentrations in the comprehensive site-wide remedial investigation. <br /> ► Sample collection for the comprehensive site-wide remedial investigation <br /> should be designed to satisfy the data needs to conduct a Water Quality Site <br /> Assessment for each SWMU investigated. <br /> JDT:jt <br /> Attachments <br />
