Box 239
Tracy, CA 95378
REGIONAL WELL SURVEY OF TRACY AREA, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
The Regional Board is currently conducting a regional well survey in the Tracy
area to try to determine the potential source of carbon tetrachloride (CC1,)
ground water contamination. Two domestic wells (25080 and 25516 South Banta
Road) have been contaminated by volatile organic constituents (VOCs) . Samples
from these wells contain concentrations of CCI, at three times the Primary
Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 0.5 micrograms per liter (µg/1 ) .
In order to assess this ground water contamination, we would like to have
access to your monitor wells to measure ground water levels and to collect and
analyze water quality samples. These data would be beneficial to our survey
by defining the up gradient ground water quality.
All of the data collected during this regional well survey is public
information. We plan to send you the analytical results for any samples
collected from your monitor wells. With your permission, we would like to
sample your wells sometime after 7 December 1992. We will contact you to
confirm the best dates for sampling your wells.
If you have any
99 questions, please call me at (916)255-3069.
yam"NrU
CAMILLA WILLIAMS
Engineering Geologist
CKW:cw
cc: Mr. Marshall Cloud, Defense Distribution Region West, Tracy, Tracy
Ms. Margaret Lagorio, San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Department, Stockton
Mr. Robert Dixon, AGRO Environmental Services, Stockton
