11 July 1991 Proposed Plan -2- 26 August 1991
DDRW, Tracy
Monitor Wells (Method of Analysis) Freouency
LM-11, LM-12, Temperature, pH and Electrical Conductivity Quarterly
LM-63 Metals including Arsenic, Selenium and Mercury
(Methods 6010, 7060, 7740, 7471)
2. It is not necessary for Tracy to sample all on- and off-site monitor wells. This
proposal is excessive. Tracy should sample and analyze those wells which have the
highest concentrations of volatile organic constituents (VOCs) in the center of the
plumes, the wells at the leading edges of the VOC plumes, those wells which are
down gradient of waste management units and a representative number of up gradient
wells. The following wells should be sampled and analyzed and should be sufficient
to develop the data needed to complete the Risk Assessment.
Monitor Wells Rationale for Selection
LM-11 Most up gradient well along western boundary of site.
LM-9, LM-10, Wells are up gradient of medical supply burial , embalming fluid
LM-13 dump, lube oil dump and pesticide disposal trench.
LM-21, LM-22, Wells are down gradient of medical supply burial , embalming o
LM-14 fluid dump, lube oil dump and pesticide disposal trench.
LM-43 Well is near the sump from Recoup.
LM-26 Well is upgradient of Building 28, Area 4 plume.
LM-17, LM-87, Cluster well site with highest VOC concentrations in Area 4.
LM-92
LM-32, LM-33, Cluster well site in center of Area 3.
LM-34 or LM-58,
LM-59, LM-60
LM-76 Well at leading edge of the VOC plume off-site.
LM-63, LM-64, Off-site Cluster wells with no concentrations of
LM-65 trichloroethylene (TCE) and tetrachloroethylene (PCE) .
LM-18 or LM-19 Down gradient wells of hazardous materials storage areas.
LM-42 Up gradient well from battery acid sump and Buildings 201 and
206.
LM-24 Down gradient well from battery acid sump and Buildings 201 and
206.
LM-25 Well with highest concentration of TCE.
LM-16 Well is near old industrial waste lagoons.
