The RA was
reviewed by the Department' s toxicological assessment unit.
The Department' s review concludes that the :2A may
underestimate the potential risk associated with
contamination at the Tracy facility. Factors leading to this
conclusion are:
o Not all potential pathways of exposure were evaluated
for the selected constituents.
o The elimination of potential constituents from further
evaluation without sufficient rational.
o The use of qualitative values to establish risk.
Additionally, EPA has updated it's guidance frr the
development of risk assessments since the submission •: f this
report. Our comments along with the updated guidance should
be used to revise the RA. The revised RA should ac -ain be
submitted as part of the draft final RI/FS engireering
report.
Should you have any questions regarding this review, yDu may
contact me at (916) 855-7874 .
sincerely,
()-P
Jim Pinasco
Waste Management EngineE:r
Site Mitigation Unit
cc: See next page.
