Appendix D, Organics Data Checklist: The Data Checklist does not include <br /> qualitative criteria for compound identification to minimize the number <br /> of false positives and false negatives (reporting a compound present or <br /> absent when it is not) . According to the NFGs, these criteria (e.g. , <br /> Relative Retention Times (RRTs) ) should be included. Per the NFGs, the <br /> RRTs must be within ± 0.06 RRT units of the standard RRT, and for Semi- <br /> volatile and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and for Organochlorine <br /> Pesticides, the retention times of both of the surrogates, matrix <br /> spikes, and reported compounds in each sample must be within the <br /> calculated retention time windows on both columns.
