Sacramento, Califomia 95827 <br /> Subject: Proposal <br /> Geotechnical Engineering Services <br /> Proposed Soil Management Cell <br /> Tracy Army Depot <br /> DDRW-Tracy, California <br /> Dear Ms. Shrum: <br /> In response.to your Request For Proposal (RFP), dated February 6, 1996, BSK & Associates <br /> (BSK) is pleased to submit this proposal to provide geotechnical engineering services for the <br /> subject project. <br /> 1.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> Based on our review of the RFP and discussions with Ms. Alix Bockelman of Radian <br /> Corporation, the proposed project involves construction of a soil management cell, approximately <br /> 300 feet long, 30 feet wide and 10 feet deep. The proposed cell will be located at a lined <br /> evaporation pond (SWMU3). The soil in the evaporation pond will be excavated to the <br /> approximate depth of the water table and replaced with compacted fill to form foundation for the <br /> management cell. <br /> 2.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE <br /> The purpose of our investigation is to assess the subsurface soil conditions at the proposed soil <br /> management cell location in order to provide site preparation, grading and foundation design <br /> recommendations for the subject structure. In order to accomplish this purpose, we propose to <br /> undertake the following: <br /> Geotechnical Engineering • Engineeringoeology •Environmental Services•ConstructioInspection &Testing •Analytical Testing <br />
