1.
TABLE 2
ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF EXCAVATION SOIL SAMPLES
Country Mart
24342 South Chrisman Road, Tracy, California
February 6, 1995
(mg/kg)
Sample TPH as Ethyl-
ID Gasoline Benzene Toluene benzene Xylenes
D-1 ISTD ND ND ND ND
D-2 ND ND ND ND ND
NB-1 240 0.12 3.0 1.5 21
ni&-g = parts per nulljon,ppm;ND = Not Detectcd at or alwnc ntwu11g 11111115
5.0 CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS
5.1 Hydrocarbon Impacted Soil
Soil samples collected from the excavation indicate that impacted soil remains in the area
of the former USTs at depths in excess of 31 feet. Although no samples were collected
from the sidewalls of the excavation, it is likely that impacted soil extends to the northwest,
north and northeast.
No petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the area of the former dispenser islands. It
is likely that hydrocarbons detected in these areas during the UST removal were limited
to the immediate vicinities of the sample locations. Laboratory results of the soil samples
collected at depths of 8.5 and 9 feet indicate that all impacted soil near the dispenser islands
was successfully removed.
It is assumed that the PHS/EHD will require additional investigation in the area of the
former USTs. We recommend the preparation of a work plan to further investigate the
former UST area. After the investigation, a Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation
Report (PIER) should be prepared. y
5.2 Stockpiled Soil
The stockpiled soil at the site has not been characterized. We recommend the collection
of soil samples from the stockpile. After the stockpile has been characterized, remediation
or disposal alternatives can be considered.
Geabgiral Audit Services,Inc.
SC-95-01.107602COUNTRY APART/_r14
