River Islands 6835.4.002.01
Pond E, Water Recycling Plant September 6, 2005
AUTHORIZATION REQUEST FOR MONITORING WELL Page 5
INSTALLATION AND GROUNDWATER STUDY
To meet the requirements of the RWQCB, the project land surveyor will need to survey the well to
establish horizontal coordinates and elevation data for the new well. Elevation data provided by the
surveyor should include the top of well casing, the top of the concrete monument for the well, and
the ground surface at the well. The surveyor should tic the survey of the well to the nearest
documented benchmark to establish elevation control. Vertical survey shall be reported to the
nearest 0.01 foot. Surveying of the well is not included in the scope of this proposal, but we would
be glad to coordinate these services for you if requested.
Our fee estimate was prepared with the expectation that the site and exploration locations are
accessible by conventional truck-mounted drilling equipment. If rain, irrigation or other
unforeseen access impediments are encountered, it may be necessary to use all-terrain track-
mounted or balloon-tired equipment, which would significantly increase the cost of the planned
exploration and well installation.
AUTHORIZATION
If you are in agreement with the scope and fees outlined herein, please sign and return both
copies of the enclosed Professional Services Agreement as our authorization to proceed. A fully
executed copy will be returned for your records.
LIMITATIONS
We will strive to perform our work in general conformance with the geotechnical engineering
practice that exists within the Lathrop area at the time of our services. It should be noted that
because of the natural variation of subsurface materials, the actual groundwater conditions across
at the site might vary from the location explored and sampled. No warranties are expressed or
implied. In the event that the character of the project changes, additional studies may be required.
Approval of the site from regulatory agencies may require additional study than currently proposed.
If you have any questions on any portion of the scope of services or any other aspect of the
agreement, please call and we will be glad to discuss them with you.
Sincerely,
ENGEO Incorporated Reviewed by:
Duncan R.
