In
general, the wells are 20 to 30 feet deep and have perforated intervals that range from 10-to 20-feet in total
length.
b)Wells are not part of the approved monitoring network for the Crossroads site. These wells are approved
for Lathrop's WRP-1 MBR monitoring network(regulated under a different WDR)and therefore groundwater
levels in these wells are used to provide supplemental data for developing contours beneath the Crossroads
site (Figure 3).
Groundwater elevation contours are shown in Figure 3. Table 5 lists hydraulic
head gradients calculated between selected monitoring well pairs. Water levels
and hydraulic head gradients are expected to change temporally as a result of
seasonal conditions and land disposal operations.
Calculated gradients between selected well pairs monitor hydraulic gradients
across the site. A positive gradient indicates that groundwater flow is away from
the first well listed and toward the second well. A negative gradient indicates that
groundwater flow is in the opposite direction, and water is moving away from the
second well listed and toward the first well.
Table 5.
