In the same letter, the EHD directed the effects of ozone
injection be evaluated and presented to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board
Central Valley Region (CRWQCBCVR) for Notice of Intent requirements to comply with the
terms of General Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR), and the Monitoring and Reporting
Program No. R5-2008-0149
By electronic mail dated 06 February 2012, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE). your
consulting firm, provided "a reference to the direction of the EHD to evaluate the site for
WDR AGE stated that The site was previously evaluated and the report of the ozone bench
scale test was submitted to the EHD." AGE included a copy of the Revised Ozone Injection
Pilot Study Work Plan. dated 27 October 2005.. in which the results from the ozone injection
bench scale test had been discussed.
The EHD is well aware of the ozone injection bench scale study results and comments made
by the CRWQCBCVR by electronic mail dated 16 September 2005 concerning the bench
scale test. By letter dated 17 April 2006, the EHD approved a twenty-four-week in-situ ozone
sparge (IOS) pilot study Neither the CRWQCBCVR nor the EHD has record of receiving an
IOS pilot study report following the twenty-four week study. For the CRWQCBCVR to approve
future ozone injections at this site, you must submit a Notice of Intent for the injection permit
and a draft monitoring and reporting program to that agency for review. Please contact the
CRWQCBCVR for further assistance
