1./
23 December 2005
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0235
• 01 April 2005 -soil sample collected from the former northern UST area for the Ozone Injection-
Bench Scale Pilot Study. 05 April 2005 -ground water samples collected from well MW-10 were
submitted with soil to Mc Campbell Analytical(MAI) for the Bench Scale Pilot Study.
• 29 April 2005-the Ozone Injection-Bench Scale Pilot Study report was supplied by MAI for AGE
to review and comment. The Bench Scale Pilot Study report was submitted to the EHD and the
Board on 12 May 2005.
• 15 June 2005 -Off-site Assessment Work Plan was prepared, approved by West Clay Property and
submitted to the EHD. 10 August 2005 -work plan approved.
• 16 September 2005 -the Comments approving the Bench Scale Pilot Study from the Board were
received by electronic mail. 30 September 2005 the EHD reviewed the Bench Scale Pilot Study
report under direction of the Board direction of reducing the number of ozone injection well
locations.
• 21 to 23 September 2005 -off-site grab water sampling conducted to defined the southern extent of
the dissolved hydrocarbons in Clay Street.
• 03 October 2005-the EHD directed the submittal of a revised(reduced)Ozone Injection Pilot Study
Work Plan.
• 10 to 19 October 2005-deep ground water monitoring wells installed near the former southern UST
location and one shallow well (EW-1) was reinstalled near the former northern UST area.
Development and sampling of the newly installed wells followed.
• 27 October 2005 -the Ozone Injection Pilot Study Work Plan was submitted to the EHD,reducing
the number of ozone injection well locations from ten to four. The location of the ozone injection
well locations remained near the former northern UST area.
• 09 November 2005 - a meeting was conducted on-site to discuss the Ozone Injection Pilot Study
Work Plan and the data collected from the off-site assessment and newly installed monitoring wells.
• 06 December 2005 -a site assessment/ground water monitoring report was submitted to the EHD.
22 December 2005 a meeting was conducted on-site to discuss the Ozone Injection Pilot Study Work
Plan and the data collected from the off-site assessment and newly installed monitoring wells.
At the direction of the EHD,two additional shallow ground water monitoring wells were proposed
to be installed south and southeast of the former northern UST area to fill a general data gap at the
southern edge of the northern UST area, thus allowing observation point near ozone injection wells
to evaluate the performance of the ozone injection pilot study. The monitoring wells construction
should replicate the current shallow well network. The proposed well screen interval for the new
wells is a total depth of 40 feet with 20 feet of well screen. The ground water sampling and
monitoring wells will be installed and sampled according to procedures detailed in the AGE-
prepared Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan-March 1998,dated 31 March 1998 and approved
by the EHD by letter dated 11 May 1998, and Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan Addendum (/"
dated 20 September 2001 and approved by the EHD by letter dated 21 September 2001. The
proposed observation well locations are depicted on Figure 2. Z Nj Ws
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc. V)'qA- c
V
U90M
