Site 300 provide issue-point control for these respirators. Respirators are given only to personnel <br /> who have been properly trained and fitted for respirator use. <br /> 10.9 Emergency Assembly Point Kit(Self-help Kit) <br /> Protective and emergency equipment are stored in the Self-help Kit located at the designated Site <br /> 300 evacuation assembly points.The kits are maintained for major emergencies that require the <br /> evacuation of Facility and other Site 300 personnel. Kits contain a first-aid kit,blankets, <br /> stretcher, flashlights, safety glasses, gloves (plastic,leather, and cotton), and hard hats among <br /> other items. Kits are inspected on a routine basis, and items are replaced when necessary. <br /> 10.10 Material Safety Data Sheets <br /> MSDSs list the characteristics and hazards of a chemical. An MSDS can be obtained from the <br /> CHEMTRACK MSDS Hotline(extension 4-4404).The ES&H Team also maintains files of <br /> MSDSs for chemicals routinely used at LLNL, and copies are available upon request., <br /> 10.11 Run Cards (Emergency Response Drawings) <br /> Run cards containing information pertinent to Facility emergency response are maintained at the <br /> Site 300 Fire Station.They include: <br /> • Special Information Sheets that provide a list of hazardous materials, special hazards, <br /> and their physical locations within the building and surrounding area. <br /> • Building Plans that provide plot plans of the buildings and surrounding areas,room <br /> numbers,and locations of shut-off valves and fire alarm panels. <br /> 10.12 Emergency Lighting <br /> See Section 7.5 for the types of emergency equipment available in the event of a power outage. <br /> 10.13 Decontamination Equipment <br /> RHWM maintains equipment that is available to decontaminate areas that may potentially be <br /> contaminated by a hazardous or toxic material release. This includes containment booms,mops, <br /> brooms,shovels, and a pressure washer. The equipment is inspected on a monthly basis. <br /> Chemical solutions used in decontamination operations are listed in Appendix R <br /> The Fire Department also maintains decontamination supplies for personnel and/or equipment <br /> decontamination.The Tactical Plan 1612 in LLNL Hazardous Materials Response Plan contains <br /> a discussion of the Fire Department's decontamination equipment. <br /> 10.14 LLNL Livermore Site Equipment <br /> Additional emergency response equipment is also readily available from the LLNL Livermore <br /> Site, including release response equipment,response vehicles and heavy equipment, site safety <br /> equipment,PPE,emergency assembly point kits,and MSDSs. <br /> RHWM at the Livermore hazardous waste facility(Livermore Site)also maintains a response <br /> trailer containing bulk quantities of spill response equipment to support the Fire Department <br /> when necessary. An electric floor scrubber, a mercury vacuum cleaner, and a steam cleaner are <br /> also maintained in the trailer. <br /> Lab Special Services Unit 1898,located in Building 323 at the Livermore Site,is a hazardous <br /> materials response vehicle operated by the Fire Department. It contains spill kits, absorbent <br /> LLNL Site 300 Contingency Plan 27 January 2019 <br />
