Weber Street, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject: Workplan for Additional Subsurface Investigation at N&S Irrigation, 215 West <br /> Main Street, Ripon, California <br /> Dear Mr. Rowe: <br /> ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this workplan, on behalf N&S Irrigation for the performance of <br /> additional subsurface investigation activities at the above referenced site. The purpose of the <br /> subsurface investigation is to determine the vertical and horizontal extent of petroleum impacted <br /> i..� soil and groundwater in the vicinity of the former underground storage tanks (USTs). This work <br /> being done at the direction of San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health <br /> Division (PHS/EHD) in correspondence dated November 19, 1998. <br /> The scope of work includes obtaining permits, advancing three soil borings and collecting soil <br /> samples, installing three groundwater monitoring wells, developing the wells, collecting <br /> groundwater samples, laboratory analysis of selected soil and groundwater samples, and preparing <br /> a summary report. The scope of work is described in detail in the following paragraphs. <br /> SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located on the north side of West Main Street and the east side of Locust Avenue, <br /> Ripon, California, as shown on Figure 1. The location is a residential and commercial area. The <br /> site is currently occupied by N&S Irrigation. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In March 1990, one 1,500-gallon unleaded gasoline underground storage tank (UST), one <br /> unleaded gasoline UST of unknown size, and all associated piping and dispensing equipment were <br /> removed and transported off-site.
