' k" KLEINFELDER <br /> 2 SITE SETTING <br /> 2.1 Site Location <br /> - The site is located at 639 West Clay Street in Stockton, California The site is located on <br /> the north side of a cul-de-sac just east of U S Interstate 5 The property is described by <br /> San Joaquin County Assessor's Parcel Number 147-071-10 <br /> The West Clay Properties commercial site is hereafter referred to as the "project site " The <br /> project site is located on the Stockton West Quadrangle in Township 1 North, Range 6, East <br /> of the Mount Diablo Baseline and Meridian According to the U S G S 1968 Stockton West <br /> Quadrangle map (photo-revised in 1987) the project site is located in a level area <br /> approximately 80 feet above mean sea level There are no significant topography changes <br /> in the general vicinity The map indicated that area surrounding the site includes residential <br /> and commercial property <br /> 2.2 Current Site Use and Vicinity Characteristics <br /> The project site is currently being utilized by DSS Construction Company as both office and <br /> equipment storage space It is a relatively flat site with the south eastern portion asphalted <br /> Equipment used for construction is stored on the south western portion of the site and the <br /> office building is located in the southwest corner <br /> 2.3 Geology and Hydrogeology <br /> The site lies in the Great Valle Geomorphic Province of California The valley is about <br /> 400 miles long (north-south), averages about 50 miles wide (east-west), and comprises <br /> approximately 20,000 square miles The valley has been filled with a thick sequence of <br /> marine and non-marine sediments from the late Jurrassic to the Holocene times The <br /> uppermost strata of the Great Valley represents, for the most part, the alluvial, flood, and <br /> delta plains of two major rivers (Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers) and their tributaries <br /> The valley geomorphology includes dissected uplands, low alluvial plains and fans, river <br /> flood plains and channels, and overflow lands and lake bottoms <br /> The site is located on the dissected uplands and low alluvial plains of the northern portion <br /> of the San Joaquin Valley of the Great Central Valley The San Joaquin Valley is <br /> characterized by deep accumulations of Cretaceous and Quaternary Age sediments and <br /> include both marine and continental rocks and deposits <br /> Regional groundwater flow is to the east-southeast in the vicinity of the site away from the <br /> intersection of French Camp Slough and the Port of Stockton <br /> ETN and PVC194 <br /> Copyright 1994 Kletnfelder Inc Page 3 of 11 <br />
