(AGE) , .'_ 3 has prepared this work plan for installation of ground water monitoring wells---as-part of the environmental investigation of-the site located at 16500 West-Clifton Court Road; California.-• - (Figure 1). The-purpose for the monitoniag well installations -is. to-assess the lateral extent of!, petroleum liydrocarbon-impacted,soil and ground water.related to:aa%unauthorized release from a'.' gasoline underground storage tank(UST) formerly located at the-site- This work plan describes the scope of work.and procedures to be implemented to-advance soil borings; collect and,analyze soil samples, and to' install and'develop ground water monitoring wells.-- In addition, this .work plan presents procedures for a quarterly ground water monitoring program. This work plan has been prepared.as required_by the San Joaquin County.Environmental Health Department(EHD)by°letter to IVis.:Sarale;dated 12 July,2002,and,is mi accordance with.the Central' Valley Regional Water. BACKGROUND' The site is. located in an area-of low-.topographic relief approximately.0.5 miles west of_the intersection of West-'Clifton Court_ Road and Calpack Road in-Stockton,.California(Figure 1). The;' ,. site is'mainly utilized as a storage and repair°facility for agricultural-equipment- A portion of the site is occupied by several structures-utilized for office space and-equipment maintenance,=and a storage :. ..: yard. One 10,000-gallon gasoline UST was.foi7ierly located on the northern portion of the property. , Structures and the former tank location are illustrated on Figure 2. 2.1. . REGI.ONAL_GEOLOGIC SETTING The property is situated within, the Great Valley Geomorphic Province -of California, a large, elongate, northwest frending,•asymmetric structural trough..The Great Valley Province hasbeen. fi filled with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent, creating a nearly flat- lying alluvial plain, extending from'the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the.Klarnath.Mountains - in the north.
