Cummings and Associates (JPCA) is pleased to report on
environmental condition of the soil pile located at 1111 North
Union Street, Stockton, CA. This soil was moved, with
authorization of the San Joaquin County Department of Health
Services from 625 South Commerce Street, Stockton, CA for the
express purpose of aerating the soil to remove gasoline
contamination.
The soil was excavated during the removal of two Underground
Storage Tanks (UST) from the South Commerce Street parcel.
Analysis of the soil indicated low levels of Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons, as Gasoline (TPHG) an Benzene, o uene, Ethylbenzene
and Xylene (BTEX) . Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons, as Diesel (TPHD)
was not detected. The lead (Pb) concentration levels analyzed in
these soil samples appear to be background.
Prior to the movement of this soil, John P. Cummings of JPCA
collected nine discreet soil samples from the soil piled at the 729
S. Commerce Street site, on August 10, 1993 . These nine soil
samples were composited in a state certified laboratory and
analyzed for CAM 17 Metals. A fish bio assay was performed on
these composited soil samples also.
On February 22, 1994, after six months of aeration, remediation of
the soil was complete. John P. Cummings of JPCA took eight
discreet samples from the stockpile and composited these samples
into two samples for chemical analysis for Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons, as Gasoline (TPHG) and Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene
and Xylene (BTEX) . The results of both these sampling events are
included in this report.
1
pc;T 2 5 l gc
