Structural BMPs are usually implemented when non- structural BMPs (Section 5.1.1) are ineffective. The following structural BMPs are considered: • Overhead Coverage-Provides horizontal coverage of materials, chemicals, and pollutant sources from contact with storm water; • Retention Ponds-Prevents storm water discharge from the facility; • Control Devices-Channels or routes run-on and runoff away from pollutant sources; • Secondary Containment-Collects and contains leaks or spills from storage areas; and • Treatment-Reduces pollutants in storm water discharges by implementing inlet controls, infiltration devices, clarifiers, detention ponds, etc. 5.2 Assignments to Implement the Bl►'1[Ps The planned non-structural and structural BMPs listed in Table l are to be implemented in 2004.
