This scope continues <br /> current Work Directive (WD) 03-2391 (that was initiated April 2003),is consistent with <br /> discussions between you and Mark Wuttig, and incorporates the elements of the recent <br /> January 21,2004 meeting with Mary Serra and Wendy Cohen of the RWQCB as summarized <br /> in a January 30,2004 letter from the RWQCB to KMEP. This RWQCB letter: <br /> • Concurs with the remediation strategies outlined in the following two work plans <br /> submitted by CH2M HILL on behalf of KMEP for the site: <br /> July 3,2003 Bioremediation Pilot Study in Lieu of Contin tied Pump and Treat <br /> (Bioremediation Work Plan) <br /> - September 18,2003 Phytoremediation as the final Measure for the Source Area <br /> (Phytoremediation Work Plan) <br /> • Directs KMEP to proceed with implementation of the Phytoremediation Work Plan and, <br /> with certain conditions,submit a detailed cleanup plan for the source area using <br /> phytoremediation, approvable by the Executive Officer of the RWQCB by August 1, <br /> 2004. <br /> • Directs KMEP to proceed with implementation of the Bioremediation Work Plan and, <br /> with certain conditions,including performing groundwater monitoring in accordance <br /> with Revised Monitoring and Reporting Program(MRP)No. R5-2004-0803,submit an <br /> interim evaluation report for the bioremediation pilot study by April 1,2005. <br />
