Mike Pitta <br /> Page 2 <br /> April 27,2004 <br /> This scope consists of the following tasks which are described below: <br /> • Task 1 -Develop Source Area Cleanup Plan using Phytoremediation <br /> • Task 2-Monitor Bioremediation Pilot Study and Prepare Monitoring Reports <br /> • Task 3-Abandon Wells M-9,N-b,and RW-2 <br /> • Task 4-Attend 2x RWQCB Meetings <br /> • Task 5-Project Management <br /> Mr. Wuttig,from CI12M HILL's Thousand Oaks office,will be the Project Manager,lead <br /> hydrogeologist,and will be responsible for the work. Ms. Amy Hiss,a Botanist/Wetlands <br /> Ecologist from CH2M HILL's Sacramento office,will be responsible for performing Task 1. <br /> Mr. Wuttig will be responsible for performing Tasks 2,3,4,and 5. Other technical and <br /> support staff will support the project,as appropriate. We will use local staff from our local <br /> Bay Area and Sacramento offices for field work for cost effectiveness. <br /> The estimated costs to perform Tasks 1 through 5 are provided in the attached Cost <br /> Proposal tables. This work will be performed in accordance with the conditions of the <br /> Master Services Agreement between KMEP and CH2M HILL. <br /> Task 1 -Develop Source Area Cleanup Plan using Phytoremediation <br /> CH2M HILL will develop a detailed final phytoremediation plan as a cleanup plan for the <br /> source area for submittal to the RWQCB by August 1,2004 as directed in the January 30, <br /> 2004 RWQCB letter. This cleanup pian will be prepared consistent with the RWQCB's <br /> guidance for Items to be Inchided in a Cleanup Plan (April 8,2004), that was provided by Ms. <br /> Serra of the RWQCB for this project. This guidance includes the following sections to be <br /> included in a cleanup plan: <br /> 1. Introduction <br /> A. Site Background <br /> B. Nature and Extent of Soil and Growidwater Contamination <br /> 2. Summary of Selected Remediation Alternative <br /> 3. Treatment System Design and Implementation <br /> 4. Closure and Post-Closure Monitoring <br /> 5. Time Schedule for Implementation <br /> The cleanup plan will be based on the approved Phytoremediation Work Plan <br /> (CH2M HILL,September 18,2003). Information from this work plan will be used to the <br /> extent possible for cost efficiency when preparing the cleanup plan. This task will include <br /> the following subtasks. <br /> • Subtask A-Early Action Activities <br /> • Subtask B-Prepare Conceptual Planting Plan <br /> • Subtask C—Prepare Cleanup Plan <br />
