The University of California prepares and t s high explosives (HE) at _ United <br /> States Department of Energy' s Lawrence Li- e more National Laboratory (LLNL) Site <br /> 300 which comprises approximately 300 r s in T?S, R4E, MDB& I. <br /> 2. University of California, LLNL, and U S. DcNar L -rt of Energy are hereaft[`r <br /> jointly referred to as Discharger. <br /> 3. Site 300 surface waters are ephemeral ibutary to Corral Hallow Creek, <br /> whose beneficial uses include agricul a supply; recreation; aesthetic <br /> enjoyment; and preservation and enhancement o h, wildlife, and other aquatic <br /> resources. The beneficial uses of Site 300 d water include domestic, <br /> industrial , and agricultural supply. <br /> 4. Past activities at Siteve uted the ground water beneath major areas <br /> of the site with numerc; onsti s, lading volatile organic compounds <br /> (VOCs) , HE compounds, and i ium. <br /> 5. Since at least 1982, the Dis . 3 ger h, 'ntensively investigated polluted Site <br /> 3O0 areas including the Environr� A�l e area; the General Services Area (GSA); <br /> the HE Process Area; the Ian dfii3,s i 61 Pit 8, and Pit 9; the Pit ; Complex; <br /> and others.
