JUL 101989 <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEAL; <br /> or_pn/pT ISERVICP <br /> Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory - Site 300 <br /> (Tracy) <br /> Hazardous Waste Container Storage <br /> and Treatment Facility <br /> Notice of Public Hearing and Comment Period on <br /> Draft Permits and Negative Declaration <br /> The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Department <br /> of Health Services (DHS) request public comment on Draft Permits and a Negative <br /> Declaration for a hazardous waste container storage and treatment facility for <br /> Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory- Site 300,which is located five (5) miles <br /> south of Tracy, California on Corral Hollow Road, in Alameda and San Joaquin <br /> Counties. THESE DRAFT PERMITS ENCOMPASS NEITHER THE CLOSURE <br /> OF THE TWO LANDFILL UNITS NOR THE OPERATIONS ASSOCIATED <br /> WITH THE THREE BURN PITS USED TO DETONATE EXPLOSIVE <br /> CONTAMINATED WASTES. <br /> If approved, the permits would grant Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory - <br /> Site 300 approval to continue to operate a 60-drum storage area and treat corrosive <br /> waste in Building 883 under Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, 42 U.S.C. <br /> 6901 et seq.; 40 C.F.R. Parts 264 and 270; Health and Safety Code, Ch 6.5 and 6.7; <br /> and California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Chapter 30.
