Types of wastes that may be stored in this unit include ash <br /> contaminated with chromium, acids, halogenated solvents, oxygenated solvents, <br /> waste paints and thinners,photochemicals waste (hazardous due to corrosivity), <br /> waste oils, asbestos and lab packs. THESE DRAFT PERMITS ENCOMPASS <br /> NEITHER THE CLOSURE OF THE TWO LANDFILL UNITS NOR THE <br /> OPERATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE THREE BURN PITS USED TO <br /> DETONATE EXPLOSIVE CONTAMINATED WASTES. <br /> This public notice appeared in the following newspapers on July 5, 1989: <br /> Stockton Record <br /> Tracy Press <br /> Tri-Valley Herald <br /> Pleasanton Valley Times <br /> The Fact Sheet, which provides background information regarding the facility and <br /> which outlines the basis for approval, has been included for your information. <br /> Comments on the proposed action will be accepted in writing until August 18, 1989. <br /> Verbal and written comments will also be accepted at the public hearing on August <br /> 3, 1989. Comments received after August 18, 1989 may not receive full <br /> consideration. <br />
