WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS _ <br /> UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA -3 <br /> LAWRENCE LIVERMORE NATIONAL <br /> LABORATORY SITE 300 AND <br /> U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY <br /> SAN JOAQUIN AND ALAMEDA COUNTIES <br /> 2 . The by-pass or overflow of untreated or partially <br /> treated waste is prohibited. <br /> 3 . Discharges not listed in Tables 1 and 2 are prohibited. <br /> B. Discharge Specifications: <br /> 1 . Neither the treatment nor the discharge shall cause a <br /> pollution or nuisance as defined by the California <br /> Water Code, Section 13050. <br /> 2 . The discharge shall not cause degradation of any water <br /> supply. <br /> 3 . The discharge shall remain within the designated <br /> disposal areas ( listed in Tables 1 and 2 ) at all times. <br /> Evaporation ponds for discharges listed in Table 2 <br /> shall meet the criteria for Class II surface impound- <br /> ments contained in the California Administrative Code, <br /> Title 23, Chapter 3 , Subchapter 15 . <br /> 4 . The annual discharge shall not exceed the quantities <br /> listed in Tables 1 and 2 . <br /> 5 . Collected screenings, sludges , and other solids removed <br /> from liquid wastes shall be disposed of in a manner <br /> approved by the Executive Officer. <br /> 6 . The dissolved oxygen content of holding ponds shall <br /> not be less than 1 . 0 mg/l for 16 hours in any 24-hour <br /> period. <br /> C. Provisions: <br /> 1 . Prior to discharge of the photolab rinsewater listed in <br /> Table 3 to the Class II surface impoundment , LLNL shall <br /> submit results of compatability tests with the HE <br /> wastewater and with the impoundment ' s geomembrane <br /> liner . Upon approval of the test results by the <br /> Executive Officer, the wastewater listed in Table 3 may <br /> be discharge to the Class II surface impoundment <br /> subject to the same requirements as the other <br /> industrial waste streams listed in Table 2 . <br />
