' KLEINFELDER
The results of these soil samples are detailed on Table 3 in the Appendix.
' In summary, three of five metals (chromium, lead and zinc) and one oxygenate (MTBE) were
detected from one or more of the four soil samples submitted for analyses. MTBE was detected
' at 0.30 mg/kg from temporary well boring TWl at an approximate depth of 7 feet. A summary
of the range of concentrations of the three metals detected is as follows:
Chromium 24 to 26 mg/kg
Lead 33 to 37 mg/kg
' Zinc 38 to 41 mg/kg
' No other requested analytes were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits.
5.2 GROUNDWATER SAMPLING RESULTS
' Four (4) groundwater samples were collected from temporary monitoring wells TW-1 through
TW-4 located in the vicinity of LE-C (Plate 2). The groundwater samples were analyzed for:
• Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Total Xylenes by EPA Method 8020 [BTEX]
' Total Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbons [TPH-P] by EPA Method 8015M
• Oil and Grease by APHA/EPA Methods
' • 5 LUFT metals (Pb,Ni, Cd, Cr and Zn)by EPA Methods
• Five Oxygenates (ETBE,DIPE, MTBE,TAME and TBA), by EPA 8260A
' The results of these soil samples are detailed on Table 4 in the Appendix.
' Three of the five metals (chromium, nickel and zinc) and one BTEX constituent, xylenes, were
detected from one or more of the four groundwater samples submitted for analyses. Total
' xylenes were detected at a concentration of 0.75 g/1 from a groundwater sample collected from
TW-1. TW-1 is located southeast and cross-gradient of LE-C. Chromium and Nickel were also
detected in the groundwater sample collected from TW-1 at concentrations of 0.043 and 0.022
mg/l, respectively. Zinc was detected in each of the four groundwater samples collected at
concentrations ranging from 0.13 to 0.22 mg/l.
' No other requested analytes were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits.
' 204341-1 LE01/201IR959 Page 22 of 31
tCopyright 2001,Kleinfelder,Inc.
