Kleinfelder will make efforts to expedite their services.
2 This work would be done by a subcontractor. Kleinfelder selects reputable subcontractors, but, does not have
full control over the time required by said companies. Kleinfelder will make efforts to expedite their services.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND ASSUMPTIONS
This scope of work and the attached cost estimate are based on the following assumptions:
• The client will supply Kleinfelder with formal authorization from the property
owner to obtain access to the site for the proposed sampling.
• Adequate work space and access will be provided
• Drilling/sampling derived wastes will be generated during the proposed
investigation. Excess drilling returns will placed on visquene, and will be left
alongside boring/sampling locations (as needed). Water generated during well
development/purging/sampling and water derived from equipment
decontamination will be contained in DOT-approved 55-gallon drums and will be
left on site. Disposal of all drilling/sampling-derived wastes is the responsibility
of the client. Kleinfelder is prepared to assist the client to remediate or dispose of
the wastes following the receipt of analytical data from our investigation, if
requested, at an additional cost.
• The client should be aware that penetrating the site's surface is inherently risky. It
is impossible to determine with certainty the precise location of all structures
(such as septic system tanks, leach fields, irrigation lines, etc.) which may be
buried in the ground. Kleinfelder's fee is not adequate to compensate for both the
performance of the services and the assumption of risk of damage to such
structures. If the active septic system or utilities on site are damaged by our field
activities, repairs will be necessary in order to provide continued service. Said
repairs are not included in Kleinfelder's fees.
20-YPI-628/2011P180 Page A-9
®2001,Kleinfelder,Inc. July 2,2001
