_ R&B Trucking <br /> Preliminary Site Assessment <br /> Page: 9 <br /> — <br /> 5.12 Detection Limits of Analysis <br /> The detection limit for BTX&E is 5 gg/kg and diesel is 10 mg/kg in soil samples. The <br /> detection limits in water for BTX&E ranges from 0.3 to 0.6 gg/1 and for diesel is 0.5 <br /> mg/1. <br /> 5.13 Data Reduction <br /> Analytical data will be integrated with the geological data gathered during the field <br /> investigation. This information will be used to develop the Health Risk Assessment <br /> and to evaluate future work at this site. <br /> 6.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY PROGRAM <br /> Geological Technics has incorporated the following health and safety precautions while <br /> working on sites containing unidentified hazardous waste. Once the nature and extent of <br /> contamination has been determined,additional work on site will be met with the proper <br /> precautions. <br /> 6.1 Workers Health and Safety <br /> 6.1.1 Work Space Safety <br /> The perimeter of the work space should,if possible,be 20 feet from the drilling <br /> rig or excavation site. All unauthorized personnel will not allowed access into <br /> the work space. <br /> The project supervisor shall coordinate all field activities and shall maintain <br /> the safest possible working environment at all times. If an emergency occurs, <br /> the supervisor should immediately contact the proper authorities. <br /> 6.1.2 Skin and Head Protection <br /> Disposable suits,boots,and gloves will be worn when the working conditions <br /> require such precautions. <br /> — Disposable plastic gloves will be worn at all times during soil and ground water <br /> sampling. The gloves will be changed after each sample has been collected. <br /> Used disposable clothing will be properly discarded at the end of each working <br /> day. <br />
