•
Doug H arrived at 2:25 PM and it was determined that he had applied for SJ County
Environmental Health permits, not the encroachment permits. He wanted the scope of
their work to be added to Kenko's encroachment permit. It was determined that this
approach would delay the permit being issued as Kenko doesn't have their
encroachment permit with the County resolved yet.
Doug and Ali agreed to go to County Public Works after the meeting to obtain the
encroachment permits, for Kleinfelder's work only.
4. Submittals
Amin may be able to finish up his review of the manhole submittals this afternoon.
Marc B stated the %" crushed rock is in short supply and they may have to resubmit on
different bedding material.
Ron W stated it could not be pea gravel type rock. City requires crushed rock.
Marc B will get a sample bag of the drain rock to see if it is satisfactory. He has the
submittal on this item, but forget to bring it with him.
5. Schedule
The schedule is on hold except for the bore and jack that is continuing. Kenko is also
assisting Kleinfelder as necessary.
Marc spoke with Ben Neely at the County. Ben is supposed to be scheduling a meeting
to discuss the storage of equipment on county streets. He is currently storing
everything at the Smith Canal Pump Station, but he will soon need that area for dirt and
rock. He has no place else to store it. Mike I stated that the former Chevron lot may be
utilized to store equipment if arrangements can be made with the property owner. Marc
B stated that the equipment is too big to store in a lot.
Ali stated he had delivered a set of drawings on the pipeline and traffic control to the
county and needs their comments back as soon as possible. He asked if issuance of
the encroachment permits would mean that these drawings are acceptable.
Representatives from the county were unable to answer that.
Kleinfelder will do the environmental work on Thursday and Friday and the CPT on
Saturday, if the permits are obtained. They will start at 8am.
Mike I asked if there is a contingency plan to contain and dispose the contaminated soil
if encountered.
Doug responded that at this time, they are just testing.
