1 k4 KLEINFELDER <br /> 3.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> City and County boring permits and a County encroachment permit were obtained prior to <br /> advancement of seven pushprobe bonngs (GP-1 through GP-7) and seven Cone Penetrometer Tests <br /> (CPTs) Kenko Contractors, Inc reportedly obtained the City encroachment permit Soil and <br /> groundwater samples were obtained at GP locations and the soil logs were electronically obtained <br /> ' from the CPT locations (PT-7 through PT-12) Klemfelder additionally obtained seven grab <br /> groundwater samples from completed Dewatering Wells DW-48, DW-50, DW-51, DW-52, DW- <br /> 54, DW-55 and DW-56 Two soil samples were also collected from incomplete Dewatering Wells <br /> DW-57 and DW-58 These locations are referenced on Plate 1 Soil and groundwater samples were <br /> analyzed for selected analytes per the City of Stockton <br /> 3.1. INTRODUCTION <br /> ' The CPT probes were advanced to assess hthology and trench stability issues only, therefore the <br /> findings related to the CPT borings will be summarized in a separate report Klemfelder collected <br /> its initial soil and grab groundwater samples {DW-54 through DW-58) from the Franklin Site Area, <br /> since this was the area in which soil discoloration and odor was noted during installation of <br /> dewatering wells Groundwater contaminants were identified in this initial sampling event and <br /> subsequently soil and groundwater samples were collected from pushprobes GP-1 through GP-7 <br /> Preliminary analytical results indicated that groundwater contaminants were not defined west of the <br /> westernmost pushprobe location (GP-1), therefore, additional grab groundwater samples were <br /> collected west of GP-1 from four dewatering well sites (DW-48,DW-50, DW-51 and DW-52) <br /> 32 PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD ACTIVITIES <br /> Klemfelder met with San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department Environmental <br /> ' Health Division (PHS/EHD), the City of Stockton, and the County of San Joaquin regarding soil <br /> bonng/well and encroachment permitting The PHS/EHD permit approval and a county <br /> ' encroachment permit was obtained prior to initiating fieldwork The City encroachment permit <br /> was obtained through Kenko Contractors Inc The boring location was marked in white paint and <br /> Underground Service Alert (USA) was notified by Kenko Contractors Inc , prior to drilling <br /> ' activities For a copy of the boring and encroachment permits, please refer to Appendix C <br /> 33 DEWATERING WELLS SOIL AND GROUNDWATER SAMPLING <br /> Soil and grab groundwater samples were collected from a total of 9 dewatering wells in the <br /> Franklin Site Area of the project Seven grab groundwater samples were obtained from 7 <br /> t 28699 EO l /ST03R759 Page 3 of 17 <br /> Copyright 2003,Klemfelder,Inc May 20,2003 <br />
