t
8R A
addition, we propose to analyze samples from well S-3 for naphthalene, PCBs, and creosote for
two quarters.
SITE CONCEPTUAL MODEL
Cambria completed a site conceptual model (SCM) for this site and included it as Appendix A.
Cambria will add cross-sections to the SCM following the proposed investigation, as outlined
below.
SITE INVESTIGATION WORK PLAN
Technical Rationale for Proposer! Scope of Work
o The vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater previously detected in the
vicinity of the former USTs has not been delineated.
o No groundwater samples have been collected from a sand lens identified in borings CPT-1
and CPT-2 at depths of approximately 41 to 46 fbg_
o Cambria proposes five CPT borings to further investigate the vertical extent of petroleum
hydrocarbons in groundwater beneath the site.
Work Tasks
Permits: An appropriate permit for drilling will be obtained from SJCEHD.
Site Safety Plan: Cambria will prepare a Site Safety Plan for field work.
Utility Clearance: Cambria will mark proposed drilling locations and the locations will be
cleared through Underground Service Alert prior to drilling.
Site .Investigation: Five exploratory soil borings (CPT-3 through CPT-7) are proposed at the
locations shown on Figure 2. CPT-3 and CPT-4 will be drilled adjacent to CPT-1 and CPT-2,
respectively. Borings CPT-5 through CPT-7 are proposed near the property boundaries. Each of
these borings will be drilled to 100 fbg to log lithology. Soil samples will be collected in
unsaturated soil from the borings to further investigate the extent of TPHd in soil beneath the
. site. Groundwater sampling depths will be determined based on the soil types encountered.
0943 5
