CARDA
Cambria will target laterally continuous coarse-grained (sandy) zones for groundwater sampling,
starting with the sand lens at approximately 41 to 46 fbg. if no laterally continuous coarse-
grained zones are encountered, Cambria will collect groundwater samples at ten-foot intervals.
A Cambria geologist will supervise the drilling, and encountered soils will be continuously
logged using electronic CPT technology. Soil samples will be retained in brass or stainless steel
sample tubes and will be covered on both ends with Teflon sheets and plastic end caps.
Groundwater samples will be collected with CPT groundwater sampling equipment and
transferred into vials containing hydrochloric acid preservative with no head space. Soil and
groundwater samples will be labeled, entered onto a chain-of-custody record and placed into a
cooler with ice for transport to a State of California certified laboratory for analyses.
The scope of work described in this work plan will be performed under the supervision of a
registered geologist or engineer.
Chemical Analyses: Soil samples will be analyzed for TPHd by EPA Method 8015 (Modified).
Groundwater samples will be analyzed for TPHd, TPHg by EPA Method 8015 (Modified) or
• equivalent, BTEX by EPA Method 8020 or equivalent, and 1,2-DCA by EPA Method 8260B.
Report .Preparation: Following the receipt of analytical results from the laboratory, Cambria
will prepare a written report which will include field procedures, laboratory results, boring logs,
an updated SCM including cross-sections, and conclusions and recommendations.
SCHEDULE
Cambria is prepared to begin work upon written approval of this work plan by SJCEHD and
receipt of an appropriate drilling permit.
•
0943 6
