r
C A G 3 R A
southwest to northeast into Yosemite Lake approximately 1,200 feet southeast of the site
(Figure 1).
Results: The only receptor identified within a 1/z-mile radius of the site is the Smith Canal
approximately 1,200 feet southeast of the site. Because the Smith Canal is upgradient and a
significant distance from the site, it is not likely to be impacted by previous activities at the
subject site.
Geophysical Survey
Admilk
On September 6, 2001, Norcal Geophysical Consultants, Inc. (Norcal) of Petaluma, California
performed a geophysical survey to confirm that the former underground storage tanks (USTs)
shown on Figure 2 were actually removed. Norcal's investigation consisted of metal detection,
ground penetrating radar, and total field magnetic intensity surveys. Norcal could not conduct
total field magnetic intensity surveys in the area behind the former station building due to the
presence of hedges and underneath the canopy due to interference. These areas were
investigated using both metal detection and ground penetrating radar. No evidence of any
existing USTs remaining beneath the site was observed. The testing methods and results are
discussed in greater detail in Norcal's report, which is included as Appendix 1.
Recommendations
As the USTs have been removed and there are no sensitive receptors likely to be impacted by
previous site activities, Cambria recommends continuing the existing quarterly groundwater
monitoring program for one year. Following the third quarter 2002 sampling event, Cambria will
reassess the site and make further recommendations as necessary.
0943 2
