A total of five (5) ground water monitoring wells <br /> (MW-I through MW-5) were destroyed under San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department (EHD) oversight. The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1. Site structures and <br /> monitoring well destruction locations are depicted on Figure 2. <br /> INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND <br /> Ground water monitoring wells MW-I through MW-5 were previously installed at the site as part <br /> of a leaking underground storage tank(UST)investigation.Wells MW-I through MW-4 were single- <br /> completed at the site with 2-inch diameter PVC casing to depths of 25 feet below surface grade <br /> (bsg);well MW-5 was single-completed at the site to a depth of 25 feet bsg utilizing 4-inch diameter <br /> PVC well casing. <br /> In a letter dated 12 June 2009,the California Regional Water Quality Control Board -Central Valley <br /> Region concurred with the EHD recommendation to close the site, and further directed that wells <br /> MW-I through MW-5 should be properly destroyed at the site. <br /> PROCEDURES <br /> On 01 July 2009,a total of five(5)ground water monitoring wells were destroyed at the site under <br /> EHD well destruction permit(Appendix A).
