' 13 November 2000
AGE-NC Project No 98-0465
' TPH-d was detected in the ground water samples collected from monitoring well MW3 at a
concentration of 90 µg/l BTEX compounds were detected in the ground water samples collected
from well MW2 at concentrations of 0 56 ug/l, 0 98 ugll, 0 53 ugll and 2 6 ug/l, respectively
Xylenes were detected in the samples collected from MW1, MW3 and MW4 at concentrations of
1 2 ug/l, 1 2 µg/1 and 1 5 ,ug/l, respectively
' MTBE was detected in the ground water samples collected from MW1, MW3, and MW4 at
concentrations of 8 8 ug/1, 250 ug/1 and 59 ugli, respectively MTBE detections were confirmed in
the samples by EPA Method 8260 at concentrations of 8 9 4g/1, 270 ug/l and 63 ug/l, respectively
' No other fuel oxygenated compounds were detected in the ground water analyses
Analytical results of water samples collected during October 2000 are summarized on Table 2, The
laboratory report (MAI Lab No 50882 through 50885), QA/QC report and chain-of-custody form
are included in Appendix B
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
o The ground water elevations ranged from 8 61 to 8 70 feet below MSL Ground water is
flowing toward the northwest under an average gradient of 0 0013 feet/feet The relative
ground water elevation at the site decreased an average of 1 63 feet between the July 2000
' and October 2000 monitoring events
• Concentrations of dissolved TPH-d and/or BTEX compounds previously undetected, are
present in monitoring wells MW I, MW2, MW3 and MW4 Concentrations of dissolved
MTBE have increased significantly in monitoring wells MW3 and MW4 since the last
monitoring event in July 2000
' c The lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water has not been defined,
but does not appear to be significant
' o The lateral extent of MTBE-impacted ground water has been defined to the northeast of the
former UST area, but not toward the east, south or west to northwest
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
