. 29 December 1999 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0465 <br /> Page 3 of 9 <br /> 2 4 GROUND WATER DEPTH AND GRADIENT <br /> Based on review of the Lanes of Equal Depth to Groundwater Fall 1998 map published by the San <br /> Joaquin County Flood Control District and Water Conservation District(FCD&WCD),the estimated <br /> depth to ground water at the site is between 10 and 20 feet below surface grade (bsg) Review of the <br /> map Lanes of Equal Elevation of Groundwater Fall 1997(FCD&WCD) depicts the regional ground <br /> water flow direction to be towards the northeast <br /> 3.0. SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Based on the results of the USTs removal, ground water and soil at the site has been Impacted The <br /> lateral and vertical extent of impacted soil and ground water must be determined prior to the <br /> initiation of remediation The assessment activities will consist of the following tasks <br /> • Permitting and pre-field work activities, <br /> • Drilling and soil sample collection, <br /> o Monitoring well installation and development, <br /> • Ground water sample collection <br /> • Receptor survey, <br /> • Preparation of a report of findings <br /> 3 1 PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the PHS-EHD In addition, an update to <br /> the health and safety plan presently on-file will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety <br /> and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for <br /> Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U S Coast Guard and U S Environmental <br /> Protection Agency, 1985) Prior to mobilization, each monitoring well location will be clearly <br /> marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert <br /> 32 DRFLLING AND SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> AGE proposes to install four ground water monitoring wells at the site as part of site assessment <br /> • activities Proposed well locations are illustrated in Figure 2 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
