. 29 December 1999 AGE-NC Project No 98-0465 Page 3 of 9 2 4 GROUND WATER DEPTH AND GRADIENT Based on review of the Lanes of Equal Depth to Groundwater Fall 1998 map published by the San Joaquin County Flood Control District and Water Conservation District(FCD&WCD),the estimated depth to ground water at the site is between 10 and 20 feet below surface grade (bsg) Review of the map Lanes of Equal Elevation of Groundwater Fall 1997(FCD&WCD) depicts the regional ground water flow direction to be towards the northeast 3.0. SCOPE OF WORK Based on the results of the USTs removal, ground water and soil at the site has been Impacted The lateral and vertical extent of impacted soil and ground water must be determined prior to the initiation of remediation The assessment activities will consist of the following tasks • Permitting and pre-field work activities, • Drilling and soil sample collection, o Monitoring well installation and development, • Ground water sample collection • Receptor survey, • Preparation of a report of findings 3 1 PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the PHS-EHD In addition, an update to the health and safety plan presently on-file will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U S Coast Guard and U S Environmental Protection Agency, 1985) Prior to mobilization, each monitoring well location will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert 32 DRFLLING AND SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AGE proposes to install four ground water monitoring wells at the site as part of site assessment • activities Proposed well locations are illustrated in Figure 2 Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
