I'm sorry I
came in too late this morning to call you but it. sounds like I need to fax you some I
materials anyway. I'm sending you a copy of'William Hunter and Associates "Workplan
for Removing Contaminated Soil" and your letter to Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez dated October
21, 1997 that confirms that you reviewed the same. Your office did not approve that
workplan, but requested the preparation of a second workplan to address the vertical
a extent of soil and groundwater contamination resulting from historically lower
groundwater levels at the time of release.. This second workplan (plus amendments) was
eventually prepared and implemented by Western Geo-Engineers (WEGE).
U
WEGE's May 11, 1998 report documenting our investigation of the vertical extent of soil
Ei and groundwater contamination recommended the implementation of William Hunter and
Associates original workplan and .the installation of additional groundwater monitoring
wells. We realize that our recommendations did riot provide specifics for the installation
ii of the monitoring wells and assumed that an additional workplan would need to be
prepared and approved for that portion of the project.
I will follow up this fax with copies in the mail.
Best Regards,
David Threlfall
Western Geo-Engineers
.i -
