' Wm. J. Hunter & Associates 2220 Loma Vista Dr
Registered Geologists Sacramento, CA 95825
Petroleum& Mineral Appraisers (916) 972-7941
FAX (916) 972-1683
INTERIM ASSESSMENT -REPORT _AND RESULTS OF GROUNDWATER
INVESTIGATION - 1876 COUNTRY CLUB DRIVE, STOGRTON, CA
' (SITE CODE 1844)
Prepared for
San Joaquin County Public Health Service
' Environmental Health Division
by
' Wm_ J. Hunter & Associates
October, 1994
'
PURPOM OF WO
In April, 1993, three (3) groundwater monitoring wells were
placed on the above property for the purpose of quantifying the
extent of soil & water contamination encountered during the
removal of 2 UST' s in 1989. The tanks, which had been used for
storing gasoline, had been out of service for many years prior to
' their removal.
Soil & water samples from those wells revealed the presence of
petroleum compounds in varying amounts. Quarterly monitoring
since installation of the wells continues to show detectable
levels of BTEX & TPH-G in water samples from all three wells
Although the groundwater gradient has been generally to the north
' & east, KW-1 , in an upgradient position, has consistently
recorded the highest levels of contamination_ In an effort to
determine if an offsite source exists to the north-northwest, a
' detailed title search of the area was made_ The results did not
indentify such a possible source.
A soil-gas vapor survey was performed on the property, (refer to
' that report for details, ) which showed that the contamination was
restricted to the northwest portion of the property, consistent
with groundwater monitoring results.
' Because the lateral extent of groundwater contamination had not
been defined, and an offsite source could not be identified, the
' San Joaquin County PAS Environmental Health Division required
that additional wells be placed in an attempt to identify a 'zero
line_ " Refer to EXHIBIT A for a copy of that letter. On August
4, 1994, a workplan was prepared by Wm. J. Hunter & Associates,
(WJH, ) to place two (2) additional wells on the property in an
effort to achieve that objective. A copy of that workplan is
included as EXHIBIT B. The results of that work is described in
' this report_
PROPERTY ADDRESS=
1876 Country Club Drive, Stockton, CA
' 1
