Included are copies of the field
logs made by Del-Tech, laboratory results, and a site map
summarizing the lab data & hydraulic gradient The results of
the work done to date is summarized below:
1 . The water table has risen an average of . 47 feet in the three
® months between measurements. This is consistent with data
obtained from other wells in the Stockton area.
2. The hydraulic gradient has changed slightly from southeast to
due east, which is in agreement with the regional gradient.
3. The levels of contamination measured in the water samples
collected in July have increased dramatically in all three wells
since the initial sampling in April.
COMMENTS-
I .
OMMENTS=1 . The increased levels of BTEX & gasoline cannot be caused only
by rising groundwater levels picking up additional contamination
from the soil. The sands encountered while drilling the well,
while showing contamination, were in communication with the
groundwater prior to drilling, and the levels should not change
regardless of changes in water levels. If anything, levels of
pollutants should decrease due to the flushing action of the
water.
2. MW #2 revealed NO contamination in any of the soil samples,
and the water sample taken in April had only a small amount of
benzene, and NO toluene, xylene, or TPH-G. However, the latest
water samples show significant levels of BTEX & gasoline. While
• this well is downgradient from the removed tanks, the increase in
levels of contamination cannot be explained only by rising water
1 C1
