RESULTS OF CERTIFIED ANALYSIS OF SOIL SAMPLES OBTAINED DURING
THE GEOPROBE DRILLING OF P8 AND WELLS INTALLATIONS OF RIB MW6B
AND MW7B
To fill in the data gap, soil samples were obtained from 15 5 feet bts at GeoProbe hole
P8, 12, 29 and 30 feet bts at RIB, 28 feet bts at MW6B and 13 feet bts at MW713, see
Appendix F and Table 2 Figures 7A through 7E illustrated the lateral extent of soil
contamination at 10-12 feet bts, 14-16 feet bts, 19-22 feet bts, 22-26 feet bts and 28-30
feet bts respectively Figure 8 is a cross sectional veiw of the TPHg soil plume These
figures indicate that the majority of the soil plume is located north of MW3 (former UST
excavation) and extends to the northern pump island area between 10 feet to 26 feet bts,
traversing both the A and B Zones
RESULTS OF CERTIFIED ANALYSIS OF GROUNDWATER SAMPLES
GEOPROBE FEBRUARY 14 AND 1 5,2001
Groundwater samples were obtained from "GeoProbe" test holes P8, P9, P10, PI1 and
P12 Samples P8, P10 and P12 sampled the A zone Samples P9 and PI I sampled the B
zone
P8 is the most downgradient sample point established for this site in the A zone This
sample contained TPHg at 470 ug/L and tert-Butanol at 11 ug/L tert-Butanol is a
degradation byproduct of MTBE This along with no BTEX at this location indicates that
this is the leading edge and degradation is occurring
P10 is near the southern extent of the A zone groundwater plume and contained TPHg at
560 ug/L, Benzene at 120 ug/L, Toluene at 4 ug/L, Ethylbenzene at 1 4 ug/L, Xylenes at
5 3 ug/L, MTBE at 21 ug/L, tert-Butanol at 6 ug/L, Methanol at 120 ug/L and 1,2
Dichloroethane at 12 ug/L
P12 is within the heart of the A zone groundwater plume downgradient and off site and
contains TPHg at 10000 ug/L, Benzene at 220 ug/L, Toluene at 12 ug/L, Ethylbenzene at
100 ug/L, Xylenes at 81ug/L, and MTBE at 3 7 ug/L
P9 is at the most downgradient sample point established for this site in the B zone This
sample contained Toluene at 0 81 ug/L, Xylenes at 0 83 ug/L and MTBE at 1 6 ug/L
P I I is near the southern extent of the B zone groundwater plume and contained Benzene
at I ug/L, Toluene at 0 73 ug/L, MTBE at 0 5 ug/L and 1,2 Dichloroethane at 3 9 ug/L
•
13 Sanchez 2nd QM 2001
