COLLECTION AND CERTIFIED ANALYSIS OF SOIL SAMPLES <br /> To fill in a data gap, a soil sample was obtained from the 12 to 16 feet bts core <br /> representing 15 0-15 5 feet bts (P8-15 5) This sample represents the top of water in the <br /> A Zone downgradient of previously sampled location P-3 The sample was obtained <br /> from the core which is contained in a four foot by one inch clear acrylic sleeve, by cutting <br /> through the acrylic sleeve that contained the desired sample interval The acrylic tube <br /> acted as the sample sleeve The tube ends were immediately sealed with plastic end caps <br /> The sample sleeve was then labeled and placed on ice for Chain of Custody delivery to <br /> the contracted DHS certified laboratory, see Appendix E Methods Qa/QC <br /> The sample was delivered with accompanying chain of custody documentation to KIFF <br /> Analytical LLC (DHS certified #2236) KIFF analyzed the soil for concentrations of <br /> TPH-G, BTEX, 7 Oxygenants and Lead Scavengers (1,2 Dichloroethane and 1,2 <br /> Dibromoethane) using EPA method 8260B <br /> _CLUSTER WELL INSTALLATION MW6 A-B, MW7 A-B AND R1 A-B, APRIL 9-10, <br /> 2001 <br /> A WEGE geologist working under the direct supervision of California Registered <br /> Geologist 93037 utilized a Woodward Drilling truth mounted drilling rig with 8 and 10 <br /> inch hollow stem augers to drill and install the wells, see Figure 3 and Appendix C - <br /> borehole logs <br /> CLUSTER WELL 6A-B <br /> Monitor well 6A was installed using 8 inch hollow stem augers to drill into the first water <br /> zone (A Zone) To verify that no underground utilities would be compromised from the <br /> drilling the first 5 feet were hand angered Once the five foot depth was reached, 8 inch <br /> hollow stem augers were used to drill the boring to the 10 foot depth From the 10 foot <br /> depth to top of A Zone sand, the boring was continuously sampled in two foot intervals to <br /> determine the exact depth the sandy interval was encountered (top of water) Once the <br /> top of sand was determined the boring was drilled to the 16 foot depth with the 8 inch <br /> hollow stem augers and then continuously split spoon sampled in two foot intervals to <br /> determine the depth to the top of clay (AIB aquitard) Once the top of clay was <br /> encountered the boring was drilled to that depth with the 8 inch hollow stem augers <br /> F480 2 inch diameter Sch 40 PVC 0 01 inch slotted screen with a 4 inch length bottom <br /> cap was placed across from the A Zone sand (12 to 17feet bts) through the augers and 2 <br /> inch diameter sch 40 PVC threaded pipe was attached to the screen and brought to <br /> surface #2112 sand was then slowly placed between. the 2 inch PVC pipe and the augers <br /> to l l feet bts as the augers were staged out of the hole Bentonite pellets were then <br /> placed on top of the sand (9 to 11 feet bts) and hydrated with clean city of Stockton tap <br /> water An 8 inch diameter traffic rated traffic box was then set in a 24 inch diameter <br /> concrete pad in the asphalt street surface approximately 1/4 inch above asphalt grade with <br /> 7 Sanchez 2nd QM 2001 <br />
