(BBL), on behalf of Chevron Environmental Management Company
(Chevron), has prepared this letter in to address comments to BBL'S Corrective Action Plan Revisions,
dated April 3, 2006 provided by Mr. Michael Infuma of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (County) during a phone conversation with David Evans of BBL late April, 2006. The
County's comments to the CAP Revisions are shown in bold Italics. A response follows each comment
below.
Provide generalized well construction details for B-and C-zone wells.
The A-zone well (MW-1 well cluster location) will be screened from a depth of approximately 25 to 30
feet below ground surface (bgs). The B-zone wells (MW-1, MW-2, MW4 and MW-9 well cluster
locations) will be screened from a depth of approximately 40 to 50 feet bgs. To prevent the potential for
cross contamination between the A- and B- flow zones the B-zone wells will be double cased. The first
casing will be set and sealed at a depth of approximately 35-feet bgs. Once the outer casing is set, the
bore hole will be advanced to the 50-foot depth to allow for installation of the B-zone monitoring wells.
A generalized well construction detail for B-zone wells is shown on Figure 1.
The C-zone wells(MW-1, MW-2,MW4 and MW-9 well cluster locations)will be screened from a depth
of approximately 70 to 80 feet bgs.
