PROBING AND COLLECTION OF SOIL VAPOR SAMPLES
Based on the estimated lateral extent of petroleum-impacted soil(Site Conceptual Model,dated 08
December 2003), AGE proposes advancement of seven (7) soil vapor probe borings to evaluate
vapor intrusion at the site(Figure 2).Initially,each soil boring will be advanced to maximum depths
of 10 feet bsg.However,total depths of borings will be based on field conditions,field observations
and field screening using an organic vapor monitor (OVM). Soil vapor samples will be collected
from each boring at 5 feet bsg and 10 feet bsg. Field procedures for advancement of borings and
collection of soil vapor samples are presented in Section 3.2.
Soil vapor samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services(DHS)-
certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• TPH-g in accordance with EPA Methods 5030/8015 Modified;
• BTEX in accordance with EPA Methods 8020;
• MTBE,TAME, DIPE, ETBE and TBA by EPA Methods 8260 Modified; and
• 1,2-DCA by EPA Methods 8260 Modified
Laboratory reports for soil vapor analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control(QA/QC)reports,and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with findings and recommendations.
2.6.
