Your/AGE's Jan 9, 2009 work plan is the result of
the Nov 2008 meeting we all had here, right?
The EHD (Nuel, and my signature) repsonded to this in our March 23, 2009 letter.
Three pages of words and NO real,
" you are approved to pilot test DPE" any where in there. right?
So, what happened to the work plan I directed to be submitted by April 3, 2009? as
noted on page 2 of 3, last sentence of paragraph 3??? just when are you planning
on addressing the plume delineation to the NW?
Margaret and i just went thru the notes and letter and she and I DON'T agree with
your understanding that the PILOT test was 'inferred' to be approved. She knows,
and so do I, that AGE's idea of DPE is not like the real world's idea of Dual Phase
Extraction, as in dual (two) types of extraction, like GWE AND SVE....based on this
we're not too gungho with it being used here w/o proof of it working ANYWHERE.
she's leaning to waiting for proof this (AGE's idea of) DPE stuff works...
All of the world outside AGE appears to think of DPE as a method of 'multiple'
extraction. as in dropping a GROUNDWATER extraction well down a GWE well
and pulling out enough water to affect a DTW change thereby increasing the
vadose for more exposure and vadose extraction by a SVE well. dual extraction.
After visiting Nomellini today for their DPE start up tests, it became apparent to me
that the plan there isn't to drop a GWE pump down a gw/gwe well and suck out
gw. It appears the plan here is to suck major volumes of AIR (like 22 inches of
Mercury) from a well just above the DTW, in this case from "EW-1", and having a
unit set up to separate out the gw that comes with the air.
first big difference I see is the amount of water being extracted. much lower
volumes of gw are extracted and it appears that the gw isn't the target effluent.
With such little, incidental gw coming out, how can the vadose be increased? as a
matter of fact, water came UP the casing at Nomellini's today...
Is this your plan at Blvd?
or do you plan to put in a Grunfos/GWE pump into the DPE water well you're
proposing and do you plan to pull out boo-coo amounts of gw with hopes of
10/5/2009
