v
05 October 1999
AGE-NC Project No. 98-0398
detected benzene, toluene, MTBE, ETBE, TAME, DIPE or TBA-impact to ground water.
The State of California drinking water standards, adopted by the Safe Drinking Water Act, have
established maximum contaminant levels (MCLS) for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes
at 1 4g/l, 150 4g/l, 700 ugll and 1,750 ug1l, respectively. Concentrations of dissolved BTEX
compounds detected in the grab ground water samples collected from P-1 were all below MCLs.
The closest water wells to the site are monitoring wells located approximately 300 feet east of the
site(Spot-Free Car Wash-2150 Country Club Boulevard and Boulevard Automotive Service-2151
Country Club Boulevard); based on review of Lines of Equal Elevation of Ground Water - Fall
1997, published by the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, the
monitoring wells are located in a cross-gradient relationship to the subject property. Due to the cross-
gradient relationship and because all detected BTEX compounds were below MCLs, it is unlikely
that any petroleum hydrocarbon impact from the site would impact any of the above referenced
monitoring wells.
AGE concludes that petroleum hydrocarbons remaining beneath the site appear to pose minimal risk
to human health and beneficial uses of ground water down-gradient from the subject site.
Based upon data collected from the site.. AGE recommends that no further subsurface investigation
be conducted at this time and that consideration be give to the site for closure as a low risk ground
water site.
LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluation of the hydrogeologic conditions
at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of available data
points, and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points. No other warranty,
expressed or implied, is made as to the professional recommendations contained in this report.
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc.
