CAA/IBRIA
As part of the spill response, 18,000 gallons of water was pumped out of the Wisconsin Pump
Station holding facility and contained in a Baker tank at that location This water was also tested
and did not contain any gasoline constituents with the exception of low level toluene We plan to
also run this water through our carbon filters and discharge it to the sanitary sewer with approval
from the City of Stockton
SheIl was also asked by the San Joaquin County Department of Public Works to test the County-
owned section of the storm drain between Oxford way and the terminus of the storm drain at the
Wisconsin Pump Station This testing involved running clean water through the storm drain
from a drop inlet at Bristol Avenue (one block north of Oxford Way) and collecting a sample of
this water from a manhole located at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Wisconsin
Avenue The idea of the test was that the clean water would mix with any remnants or residue of
the spilled water and be detected in the downstream sample The results of this sample showed
that no gasoline constituents were present in the storm drain
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Several water samples were collected from the storm drain to determine the level of gasoline
constituents present in the storm drain at different locations The analytical data for these
samples is presented on Tables 1 and 2 and a description of the sample locations is given below
• A water sample was collected from the Wisconsin Pump Station holding facility on
August 5, 2004
• A water sample was collected from the Baker tank that contained approximately 18,000
gallons of water removed from the Wisconsin Pump Station holding facility
• After cleaning out the City-owned section of the storm drain, a slug of clean water was
run through this section of the storm drain A sample of this water was collected at the
downstream end (Oxford Way) of the City-owned section of storm drain
• A water sample was collected from the Wisconsin Pump Station holding facility on
August 6,2004, after we had pumped 18,000 gallons of water out of the holding facility
• The water used to clean the City-owned section of the storm drain was sampled and
analyzed
• After running a slug of clean water through the County-owned section of the storm drain,
a sample of this water was collected
• The sediment removed from the City-owned section of the storm drain (generated during
cleaning activities) was sampled and analyzed
0783 S
