�GRO <br /> Jeff Granberry <br /> September 26, 1995 ( 9447-8620) <br /> 4 0 MI'T'IGATION SUMMARY <br /> The following is a summary of the volume of petroleum hydrocarbons removed from the <br /> site using SPH removal, VES, and soil overexcavation <br /> 4.1 Fme Product and Soil Vapor Extraction Summmy <br /> The removal of hydrocarbons from the site began on December 8, 1994, when an <br /> estimated 700 gallons of free product was removed by vacuum truck An additional total of an <br /> estimated 122 gallons of free product was removed by vacuum truck on December 10, 11, and <br /> 13, 1995 Thus, the cumulative total of product removed by vacuum truck is estimated to be 822 <br /> gallons <br /> Free product has also been removed from the site by hand bailing wells RW-1, MW-1, <br /> and MW-5 The bailing operation was carried out on a routine basis and almost all of the bailing <br /> was done on well RW-1 The total amount of free product removed by hand bailing is estimated <br /> to be 449 gallons The total amount of free product removed by both vacuum truck and well- <br /> bailing is estimated to be 1,271 gallons <br /> • A VES, consisting of an internal combustion engine (IC engine), begun operation on <br /> December 13, 1994 and was shut off on May 1, 1995 The system was operated for a total of <br /> 2,631 hours during this period, on a 24-hour basis for most of the time Notable exceptions are <br /> when the system was off for the days from December 18 to the 24, 1994, and when the system <br /> was operated only intermittently for the days from January 27 to February 8, 1995 <br /> Approximately 1,449 gallons of petroleum hydrocarbons were removed using the VES The <br /> following table summarizes the calculated volume of petroleum hydrocarbons removed from the <br /> site by free product recovery and soil vapor extraction <br /> Table A <br /> Petroleum Hydrocarbons Removed (Gallons) By Vapor 1✓vtrauh0n and Fme Product Recovery <br /> Date Free Pmduct Soil Vapor Total <br /> 1/1/95 989 351 1,340 <br /> 2/1/95 1,042 648 1,690 <br /> 3/1/95 1,113 1,1 l 8 2,231 <br /> 4/1/95 1,203 1,316 2,519 <br /> 5/1/95 1,271 1,449 2,720 <br /> ` r <br /> 94478620 ARP 9 - <br />
