Exxon #73708 page 2
2705 Country Club Blvd., Stockton.
Previous recommendations for this site included the placement of"MW 9'to the
north of the site in the apartment parking lot area. Prior to any remedial action
approval by PHS-EHD and in the presence of continued detectable Benzene in
MW-3, this down-gradient monitoring well will need to be installed.
PHS-EHD recommends that this site continue to monitor and sample all wells
with groundwater in them (including vapor wells) on a quarterly schedule. If
contaminants continue to be detected, the site should proceed to evaluate
remedial options. In addition, steps should be taken to install the down-gradient
monitoring well and collect soil data from 20 feet below the surface in all areas
where only shallow data exists. A work pian that addressees these concerns
should be submitted to PHS-EHD for review and approval.
Closure requests (No Further Action determination) can only be considered after
the site has been fully assessed and mitigation activities are completed. .
If continued quarterly monitoring verifies that no contaminants are present in any
well, a Closure request(as outlined in The Tri-Regional, Appendix B) should be
submitted to PHS-EHD for review and approval. All items listed on page two of
the appendix should be addressed and areas where data currently does not exist
should have steps taken to collect it prior to closure request submittal.
Please contact Michael Infuma at (209) 468-3454 should you have any
questions or wish to discuss the site.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
C Gl(4a
Michael J.
