Ntid
Mr.Michael Infurna,SJCEHD April 7,2006
Well Installation Work Plan
Palisades Station No. 835,Stockton,CA
Page 10
A minimum of 24 hours after the groundwater monitoring wells are developed, the
monitoring wells will be purged and groundwater samples will be collected. The samples
will be collected using a disposable bailer, transferred to laboratory-supplied glass vials,
and placed in an ice-chilled cooler. The groundwater samples will be transported under
strict chain-of-custody protocol to a California-certified analytical laboratory for analysis.
The newly installed groundwater monitoring wells will be incorporated into the existing
quarterly monitoring program.
Task 2E: Site Survey
A California licensed land surveyor will be retained to survey the horizontal coordinates
and elevations of each newly installed well. Elevations of the top-of-casing of the wells
will be surveyed to a 0.01-foot vertical accuracy. The elevations will be established
relative to a known benchmark in feet mean sea level (MSL). These data will be submitted
to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board as required by AB 2886
(GeoTracker).
Task 3: Laboratory Analysis
Soil and groundwater samples will be forwarded to a state-certified analytical laboratory
for chemical analysis. The samples will be analyzed for TPHG using U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (USEPA) Method 8015B/DHS LUFT, and for BTEX, MTBE, TBA,
tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), di-isopropyl ether
(DIPE), and 1,2-dichloroethane(1,2-DCA)using USEPA Method 8260B.
Task 4: Report Preparation
After completing the field activities and receiving the laboratory results, Stratus will
prepare a report documenting the findings of the additional assessment. The report will
be submitted in the form of an SCM, as required by SJCEHD personnel.
SCHEDULE
Following approval of this Work Plan, an encroachment permit package will be forwarded
to the City of Stockton. Following City of Stockton approval of the scope of work, well
installation permits will be secured from SJCEHD and the work will be scheduled.
Approximately three weeks will likely be necessary for a C-57 licensed contractor to
become available. The report documenting work activities will be submitted within
approximately six weeks of receiving all analytical results.
KAUSA Gasoline\0835\Work PlanApalisades835 workplan2006.doc STRATUS
